| We are not amused |
Over the past few decades, the Wonderland Amusement Park at Gulshan has been a centre of attraction for the young ones and adults a like. On Fridays in particular, people would throng to this park with their children, to spend a few hours of fun, on the rides and other entertaining games and activities. This was one of the few such parks in the city, loved dearly by the little ones. Now the city authorities are tearing it down. The children were heartbroken to see their beloved park being demolished by the wreckers, leaving ugly piles of bricks and rubble in its place.
The government declares it was illegally there. Illegally there for over two decades? What about the other illegal structures in the vicinity, structures that have encroached upon the pavements and lakes? Why the blind and biased eye? |
