Eva Rahman sings with Sonu Nigham Organisers paid 15 lac taka
A PROBE report
Sonu Nigham, the heartthrob with a golden voice from India, entranced fans in Dhaka during his performance at the China-Bangladesh Friendship Centre on August 7. Eva Rahman from Bangladesh sang on the same stage. The concert was organised by Interspeed Activation and Fireworks. Private TV channel ATN Bangla was the media partner. ATN Bangla paid the organisers 15 lac taka. As a result, Eva Rahman got a chance to sing along with Sonu Nigham! Incidentally, Eva Rahman is the young wife of ATV Bangla's Chairman Mahfuzur Rahman. The organisers did not invite any of the electronic media other than ATN Bangla. ATN Bangla only aired a three-minute bit of news about Eva Rahman and Sonu Nigham. That too, none of the audience was shown. The organisers were very strict about this as they plan to bring out a CD of this concert. However, ATN Bangla shot about 30 minutes of Sonu Nigham and Eva Rahman. The concert tickets cost 5000 taka and 3500 taka. There were 2000 people in the audience. That means the organisers earned a total of about 80 lac taka on the concert. n |
